Shepherd Shortys began as a handwritten recipe—meant for family gatherings, holidays, and “just because.” Over time, it became the cookie everyone asked for: buttery, lightly sweet, crumbly, and crisp. Now we bake it the same way, only on a bigger table.
What makes it “English style”
The goal is a clean snap and delicate crumble—not cakey, not chewy. We lean into a cooler dough, careful bake time, and a finish that stays crisp.
